As someone who grew up in the 90s, Pokemon was a huge part of my daily life. I remember rushing back home after school to catch the next episode of Pokemon on TV.

Back then it was the “it” thing. Everyone had stuffed Pokemon toys and Pokemon trading cards among other Pokemon paraphernalia. 

Over the years, I have seen the Pokemon franchise evolve and grow into what it is today. It still remains one of the most popular franchises among children and adults alike.

In 2001, Saudi Arabia banned Pokemon games and trading cards because they believed that the franchise promoted Zionism, Freemasonry, and Christianity because of the presence of symbols like the Star of David, triangles and crosses on the cards. 

Although the Pokemon franchise’s target audience was children, Pokemon continues to be a growing interest and hobby among adults.
