Seasonal Terrace Dining by the River Returns to Kyoto Eateries
I find the summer ritual of outdoor dining by the Kamogawa river truly unique.
Each year, from May 1 to October 15, approximately 80 restaurants unveil wooden decks along a scenic 2-kilometer stretch of the river’s west bank, known as Kamogawa Noryo Yuka.
This picturesque area is located between Nijo Ohashi 和 Gojo Ohashi bridges.
It attracts locals and tourists alike.
With the ongoing Osaka Kansai Expo, I expect a surge in visitors.
Hiroshi Tanaka, the head of the Kyoto Kamogawa Noryo Yuka Association, encourages everyone to enjoy a meal while relaxing and staying cool.
